சென்னை, டிச. 27_ மத நிறுவனங்களுக்கு வரி போட வேண்டும் என்று டாக்டர் விஜயம் பேசினார்.

இந்திய பகுத்தறிவா-ளர் கழகத்தின் மாநாடு சென்னை, பெரியார் திடலில் 26.12.2009 அன்று காலை தொடங்கி சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்றது. காலை தொடக்க நிகழ்ச்-சிகள் 26.12.2009 அன்-றைய விடுதலையில் வெளி-வந்தது. இந்நிகழ்ச்சியின் தொடர்ச்சி வருமாறு:

மாநாட்டு மலர் வெளி-யிட்டு டாக்டர் விஜயம் பேசியதாவது:

இது ஓர் அற்புதமான மலர்; இது கருத்துகள் நிறைந்தது; 21ஆம் நூற்-றாண்டில் மனித நேயர்-கள் செய்ய வேண்டிய கடமைகளைப் பற்றிய திட்டத்தைக் கொண்-டது?

இத்தகைய ஒரு மாநாட்டு மலரை நாம் காண்பது அரிது. இதன் அச்சாக்கம், கட்டமைப்பு, கருத்துகள் ஆகியன அருமை-யானவை.

கடந்த காலத்தில் மதம், அறிவியல் வளர்ச்சி-யைத் தடுத்தது. இப்-பொழுது அறிவியலின் வளர்ச்சியை மதம் பயன்-படுத்திக்கொள்கிறது.

அநீதி, ஏற்றத்தாழ்வு, அடக்குமுறை என்பன இன்னும் தொடர்-கின்-றன. மதம் மக்களுக்கு அபினி. இருக்கின்ற கொடு-மைகளை மக்கள் காணாதவாறு மத நம்பிக்கை தடுக்கிறது. எல்லாவிதமான கொடு-மைகளையும் ஒழுக்கக்-கேடுகளையும் கடவுள், மத நம்பிக்கை மூலம் மறைக்கிறார்கள்.

மதத்திலிருந்து சுதந்திரம்

மதச் சுதந்திரம் வேண்-டும் என்பதை விட, மதத்திலிருந்து சுதந்திரம் வேண்டும். மத நிறுவனங்-களின் வருமானத்திற்கு வரிபோட வேண்டும்.

மறைந்த பிரேமா-னந்தத்தின் உடைமை-யாக இருந்த நிலத்தை, புட்டபர்த்தி சாய்பாபா அபகரித்துக் கொண்-டார்; அந்த மோசடியை பிரேமானந்த் மக்களுக்குத் தெரிவித்தார். உண்-மையை நாடும்படி மக்-களை வேண்டினார். டாக்டர் அப்ரகாம் கோவூ-ரின் வழியைப் பின்பற்றி, செயல்முறை மூலம் மூடநம்பிக்கை மோசடி-களை வெளிப்படுத்-தினார்.

கோபன்கோப்மேன், எடின்பர்க் பல்கலை

பெரியார் திடலில், ஃபிரா செய்தி இதழை வெளியிடுவதில் பெரு-மைப்படுகிறேன். அதன் ஆசிரியரையும் கட்டுரை-யாளர்களையும் பாராட்டு-கிறேன்.

பி.சந்தர்: ஏழாவது ஃபிரா மாநாடு வெற்றி-யடைய வாழ்த்துகிறேன். இளம் நெஞ்சங்களில் புதிய கருத்து விதைகளை விதைக்க வேண்டுமெனக் கேட்டுக் கொள்கிறேன்.

நல்.ராமச்சந்திரன் (பெரியார் மணியம்மை பல்கலைக்கழக கழக துணைவேந்தர்)

பெரியார் மணியம்மை பல்கலைக் கழகத்தின் வேந்தர், துணைவேந்தர், இணைவேந்தர் ஆகிய மூவரும் பகுத்தறிவா-ளர்-கள். இந்தியாவில் உள்ள 408 பல்கலைக்கழகங்-களில் இப்படிப்பட்ட ஒரு நிலை இந்தப் பல்-கலையில்தான் காண முடிகிறது.

பெரியார் சிந்தனை மய்யம் இப்பல்கலையில் செயல்படுகிறது. அம்மய்-யத்-தின் வழியே 2010இல் மனிதநேயப் பகுத்தறி-வாளர் மாநாடு ஒன்றை நடத்த இருக்கிறோம் என்றார்.

குறிப்பு: மாநாட்டில் இவர்கள் பேசியதற்கும், “விடுதலை” கீழ்கண்டவாறு பிரசுரித்துள்ளதற்கும் வேறுபாடுகள் உள்ளன.

“நாத்திகம்” (atheism) என்பதற்கு பதிலாக “Rationalism” என்ற போர்வையில் விவாதங்கள் வைக்கப் படுகின்றன. அதனை “பகுத்தறிவு” என்று தமிழில் பேசப்படுகிறது.  agnosticism, skepticism, non-belief in religious system முதலிய கோணங்களில் விவாதிப்பதும், விஞ்ஞான ரீதியில் தர்க்கம் செய்வதும் ஒன்றாகாது. ஆனால் நாத்திகத்தை மறைத்து விஞ்ஞான போர்வையில் பலரக சித்தாந்திகள் ஒன்றுகூடி, இவ்வாறாக பேசுவது நன்றாகவே தெரிகிறது.

“பகுத்தறிவு” என்றே  முதலில் “விதலையில்” வெளிவந்தது அப்ப்டியே கொடுக்கப்படுகிறது:

சென்னை, டிச.27_ வகுப்பு வெறியை முறி-யடிக்க பெரியாரின் சிந்-தனைகள்தான் பயன்-படும் என்று வித்யா பூஷன்-ராவத் நேற்று சென்னை பெரியார் திடலில் நடை-பெற்ற மாநாட்டில் கூறி விளக்கமளித்தார். 7ஆவது தேசிய மாநாடு டிசம்பர் 26 பிற்பகல் மற்-றும் மாலை நிகழ்ச்-சிகள் நேற்று நடைபெற்றன. அதன் தொடர்ச்சி வருமாறு: வகுப்புவாதத்தை ஒழிப்பதில் பகுத்தறிவு இயக்கங்களின் பங்கு எனும் தலைப்பில் முதல் கருத்தரங்கு நேற்று (26.12.2009) மாலை இந்திய பகுத்தறிவாளர் கழகத்தின் சார்பில் சென்னை பெரியார் திட-லில் நடைபெற்றது.

கு.வெ.கிஆசான்: பெரியார் பேருரை-யாளர் கு.வெ.கி.ஆசான் மாலையில் நடைபெற்ற நிகழ்ச்சிக்குத் தலைமை-யேற்றார். ஆங்கிலத்தில் உள்ள கம்யூனல் எனும் சொல்லை வகுப்புவாதம் எனும் விரும்பத்தகாத பொருளில் இந்தியா-வில்-தான் பெரும்பாலும் பயன்படுத்துகிறார்கள். சமுதாயமாக மக்கள் வாழ்-வது, ஒன்றைப் பொது-வாக அவர்கள் பயன்-படுத்துவது ஆகியவை-தான் அச்சொல்லின் இயல்பான பொருள் என்-பதைத் தெளிவுபடுத்-தினார். 1964இல் வெளி-யான கன்சைஸ் ஆக்ஸ்ஃ-போர்டு அகராதியின்படி, சமுதாயங்களுக்கு இடையே பகையுணர்வு எனும் பொருளில், கம்யூ-னல் எனும் சொல் இந்-தி-யாவில் பயன்படத் தொடங்-கியதை எடுத்துக்காட்-டினார்.

இந்து முஸ்லிம் பகை: பெரும்பான்மை இந்து மதத்தினர் சிறு-பான்மை மத்தினரை ஒதுக்கி, அவர்கள் மீது ஆதிக்கம் செலுத்த முற்-பட்ட பொழுது, சிறு-பான்-மையர் சட்டப் பாதுகாப்பை வகுப்பு-ரிமையின் அடிப்படையில் கேட்டனர். அது மறுக்-கப்பட்ட பொழுது இந்து, முஸ்லீம் பகை ஏற்பட்டு, பாகிஸ்தான் பிரிவினை-யில் முடிந்தது.

வி.பி.சிங் ஆட்சியில்: மேல்ஜாதியார் ஆதிக்-கத்தில் இருந்து, ஒடுக்கப்-பட்ட, ஒதுக்கப்பட்ட, அழுத்தப்பட்ட ஜாதியார் பாதுகாப்புப் பெற, இட-ஒதுக்கீட்டைக் கோரினர். அதை விழிப்புணர்வுடன் தென்நாடு முன்-னெடுத்-தது. ஆனால் வடபுலத்-தில் வகுப்புரிமை இயக்கம் வலுப்பெறவில்லை. மண்-டல் ஆணையத்தின் பரிந்-துரைப்படி, வி.பி.சிங் பிர-தமராக இருந்த பொழுது, மத்திய அரசில் பணி-யிடங்களுக்குப் பிற்படுத்-தப்பட்டோருக்கு இட-ஒதுக்கீடு அளித்தது. அதைத் தென் மாநிலங்கள் மகிழ்-வுடன் வரவேற்றன. ஆனால் வட இந்தியாவில் மேல்-ஜாதியாரின் தூண்டுத-லால் கலவரம் உண்டா-யிற்று.

உச்சகட்ட கலவரங்கள்: உண்மையான பிரச்-சினையிலிருந்து மக்களின் கவனத்தைத் திருப்ப, மதவெறியை இந்துத்-துவா சக்திகள் கிளப்பு-கின்றன. உண்மையான பிரச்சினைகளை மறைத்து, உணர்ச்சிகளை எழுப்பி, கற்பனைப் பிரச்-சினை-களைக் கொண்டு, சிறு-பான்மை மதத்தினர் மீது வெறுப்பை வளர்த்து கல-வரங்களைத் தொடர்ந்து நடத்துகின்றன. 1992இல் பாபர் மசூதி இடிப்பும், 2002இல் குஜராத் கல-வரங்களும் அவற்றில் உச்சகட்டமானவை.

பொதுமக்களின் கவ-னம் தவறான பாதையில் செல்லும் வரை, அவர் மீது தங்கள் ஆதிக்கம் நிலை-பெறும் என்பது படித்த, மற்றும் பணக்-காரக் கூட்டத்தினரின் கணிப்பாகும். ஆகையால் உண்மைப் பிரச்சினைகளில் இருந்து எளிய மக்களின் கவனத்-தைத் திருப்புதல், கலவரத்-தைத் தூண்டுதல், பக்தி-போதையை ஏற்றுதல், மதவெறியை ஊக்கு-வித்தல் முதலியவற்றில் மதவாதிகள் ஈடுபட்டு உள்ளனர். இவர்களின் முயற்சியை முறியடிக்கும் வகையில் பகுத்தறி-வா-ளர்கள் மக்களுக்கு உண்-மைகளைச் சொல்ல வேண்டும், மூடநம்பிக்-கைகளை முறியடிக்க வேண்டும், அறிவியல் பார்வையை உண்டாக்க வேண்டும். இவை போன்ற நடவடிக்கைகளால் விழிப்-படைந்த மக்கள் தேவையான காரியங்-களுக்கும் உரிமைகளுக்-கும் முயற்சி எடுத்துக்கொள்-வார்-கள். வீண் உணர்ச்-சிக்கு ஆட்பட்டு வகுப்-புக் கலவரங்களில் ஈடு-பட-மாட்டார்கள், வகுப்பு-வாதத்தை முறியடிப்-பார்-கள். இவ்வாறு கு.வெ.கி. ஆசான் உரையாற்றினார்.

வழக்கறிஞர் அ.அருள்மொழி: உயர்நீதிமன்ற வழக்கு-ரை-ஞர் அ.அருள்மொழி பேசுகையில், புத்தரின் போதனைகள் மறக்-கடிக்-கப்பட்டு, வேதியத்தின் அடிப்படையில் கதைகள் பரப்பப்படுவதைக் கண்-டித்தார். சென்னை மாகா-ணத்தில் நீதிக்கட்சி அரசு எல்லாப் பிரிவு மக்களுக்-கும் நீதி கிடைக்கும் வகை-யில் வகுப்புரிமை ஆணை பிறப்பித்து மக்களாட்-சியை உறுதிப்படுத்தியது. இவ்வாறு அனைவருக்-கும் தெரிய வேண்டும். இன்னும் தீண்டாமை-யைக் குற்றம் அற்றது எனக் கூறுவோர் இருக்-கிறார்கள் என்பதைச் சுட்டிக்காட்டினார்.

கோவா அறிவியல் பேரவைத் தலைவர், ஆர்.ஜி.ராவ்: இக்காலகட்டத்தில் தேவைப்படுவது மனித-நேயம் என்றார். மற்றவர் கருத்துக்கு மதிப்பளிக்க வேண்டும், அறிவியல் மனப்பான்மையை வளர்க்க வேண்டும் எனக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டார்.

வித்யாபூஷன் ராவத்: டெல்லி, சமூக வளர்ச்சி நிறுவனத்தின் இயக்குநர், வித்யா பூஷன் ராவத் கருத்து அறிவிக்கையில் பெரியாரின் எண்ணங்-கள் பிற மொழிகளில் மொழி பெயர்க்கப்பட்டு எல்லோரிடமும் பரவ வேண்டும் என்றார். வகுப்பு நெறியை முறி-யடிக்க பெரியார் சிந்த-னை-கள் பயன்படும். காந்தி-யார் கூறிய மதச் சார்பின்மை பார்ப்-பனியம் சார்ந்த மதச் சார்பின்மை. பெரியாரின் மதச் சார்பின்மை, மனித நேயம் சார்ந்தது. மதச் சார்பின்மை வர்ணாஸ்-சிரம தர்மத்தை மறுப்ப-தாக இருக்க வேண்டும் என்றார்.

பி.எஸ்.பர்னாலா: பர்னாலா மத குருக்-கள் மூடநம்பிக்கை-களைப் பரப்புவது வருத்தத்திற்கு உரியது எனக்கூறி, பகுத்-தறிவாளர்கள் மக்களை இன்னும் அதிக அளவில் நாடு முழுவதும் சந்தித்-துப் பிரச்சாரம் செய்ய வேண்டிய தேவையை வலியுறுத்தினார்.

About the nudity of Periyar E. V. Ramaswamy Naicker, much fuss has been made.

However, I could not get any authentic evidence or photograph or other correlatve or corroborative evidence to prove such claim.

Recently, I found some elite Tamil groups have been trying to interpret or rather misinterpret that it has been a great achievement for an atheist to be “naked”!

However, the same DK-groups stone and protest against the Jain monks going here and in Tamilnadu!

Now ledt us analyse the so-called Periyar’s nude photos. Two photos are available in different books published by their protagonists and the pictures are as follows:

Approaching Holidays Prompt Atheist Campaign

WASHINGTON — An unusual holiday message began appearing this week in the nation’s capital on the sides of buses and trains.

“No god? … No problem!” reads the advertisement featuring the smiling faces of people wearing Santa Claus hats. “Be good for goodness’ sake.”

Over the next two weeks, 270 of the ads will go up on city buses and trains in the Washington area as part of the holiday kickoff to campaigns sponsored by secular groups in cities around the country and abroad. If last year was any indication, the signs are likely to spark a theological war of words.

“We don’t intend to rain on anyone’s parade, but secular people celebrate the holidays, too, and we’re just trying to reach out to our people,” said Roy Speckhardt, the executive director of the American Humanist Association. “To the degree that we are reaching out to the godly, it’s just to say that you can be good without god. So their atheist neighbor down the street shouldn’t be vilified as though he is immoral.”

Signs similar to those in Washington are being placed on buses and billboards in New York, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, and near the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho, as well as in London; Barcelona, Spain; Genoa, Italy; and Toronto, Montreal and Calgary, Canada, Mr. Speckhardt confirmed.

Last year, a similar campaign by the association drew strong reactions.

The head of the Catholic League linked secular humanists to figures like Hitler and the serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. The publisher of “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” complained about the signs. In Cincinnati, a billboard that said “Don’t believe in God? You’re Not Alone” had to be moved after the owner of the billboard property said he had received threats. In Moscow, Idaho, a sign that said “Good without God. Millions of humanists are” was vandalized twice in three weeks.

“It is the ultimate Grinch to suggest there is no God during a holiday where millions of people around the world celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ,” said Mathew D. Staver, founder and chairman of the Liberty Counsel, a conservative religious law firm, and dean of Liberty University School of Law in Lynchburg, Va. “It is insensitive and mean.”

Aside from sending an alert to members, Mr. Staver said his organization had no legal or other action planned in response to the advertisements.

After signs went up last year in Washington, religious groups took out their own ads. One featured the famous Sistine Chapel image of God’s finger reaching out to Adam along with the words: “Why Believe? Because I created you and I love you, for goodness’ sake. — God.” Pennsylvania Friends in Christ placed an ad reading: “Believe in God. Christ is Christmas for goodness sake.”

City transit officials said they had so far not received any requests from religious groups to post their own signs this year.

Elsewhere, this year’s secular signs vary in tone.

In Seattle, this year’s signs say “Millions are good without God.” In Las Vegas, signs to be put up this week will say “Reasons Greetings” and “Yes, Virginia … there is no God.”

The sponsor of the Las Vegas signs, the Freedom From Religion Foundation, created a furor last year with its sign that read, in part, “Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds.” Its location was next to a Nativity scene at the Capitol in Olympia.

The campaigns come against a backdrop of a growing number of nonbelievers. Fifteen percent of Americans identified themselves as having “no religion” in a 2008, up from 8 percent in 1990, according to a study by the Program on Public Values at Trinity College in Hartford.

The number of campus affiliates of the Secular Student Alliance, a group that promotes secular values at universities, have grown to 174 in 2009 from 100 in 2008 and 80 in 2007.
